The President and the Board of Directors are the main bodies of the District, the 'steering committee' responsible for running the Consortium and promoting initiatives, representing one of the most important tanning centers in the world.

The Board of Directors includes entrepreneurs and professionals from the different sectors of the industry, nominated by the main associations of the tanning sector in Veneto:Confindustria Vicenza, Confartigianato Imprese Vicenza, Apindustria Confimi, Assomac, AICC and UNPAC

It has been operating in the tanning sector for 30 years. In 2010 he started his own business and since 2010 he has been the sole director of GEASrl, a leather processing company. He actively participates in the entrepreneurial network, personally involved in creating opportunities for connection between the various sectors of the supply chain. He chairs the Consulta of Medio Chiampo Spa, is a member of the Board of Directors of Acque del Chiampo Spa and councilor of the tanning section of Confindustria Vicenza. Elected president of the Veneto Leather District in 2019, his office was renewed in 2023.

Claudio Bortolati

Managing partner of GSC Group Spa, a leading company in the sector of chemical products for tanning, he is a member of Unpac - National Union of Italian Tannery Auxiliary Producers, an association of which he is a contact person at the Board table. He boasts forty years of experience in the tanning world, in the sector of chemical products supporting the supply chain, first as a sales agent and subsequently dedicating himself to the production activity.

Mechanical Engineer, specialized in industrial automation, over the years he has held important management positions in leading companies for the construction of machinery and for the automotive sector. Since 2018 he has held the role of General Manager at Ger Elettronica, a manufacturer of digital systems aimed at making the tanning process more efficient. He is councilor of the Order of Engineers of Vicenza and of Assomac, which he represents at the executive table of the District.

Partner of Mabo Pell srl, the family business which mainly deals in leather for furniture and footwear, has been in the tanning sector for almost 40 years and mainly deals with the technical aspects of production and trade.
He is the director of Confartigianato, the most representative Italian organization of crafts.

At the helm of Euroconciaria Srl, a company specialized in drying leather, he has been working in the world of tanning for thirty years. Formerly Vice President of the Tanning District, he is currently President of Confimi and of the Chemical Plastic Rubber and Tanning category of Apindustria Confimi Vicenza, the Association of Small and Medium Industries of the Province of Vicenza.

Stefano Luigi Baggio

Chemical expert, he boasts over 40 years of experience in the tanning sector. Over the years he has held important positions, as technical director for international tanning groups including Calbe, Brusarosco, Rino Mastrotto Group and JBS Brazil and CEO of Conceria Priante. Freelancer, he collaborates today with the German company Bader Leather GmbH as a technician specialized in the research and development of new technologies and leather articles for the automotive industry. He sits at the table of the Board of the Veneto Leather District as AICC delegate.

Massimo Confente

Councilor of the Tanning Section of CONFINDUSTRIA VICENZA

Partner and chairman of the Board of Directors of the company 3C Lavorazione Pelli, specialized in the processing of raw and wet blue hides on behalf of third parties, he boasts decades of experience both in the tanning world and in that of local institutions, holding various positions in the public administration and in other realities of the territory. He is a member of the council of the Tanning Section and of the Small Industry Committee of Confindustria Vicenza, as well as a member of the industrial users council at Acque del Chiampo Spa.
