Circularity, renewability, and eco-compatibility are the values that guide us in imagining and designing the tanning supply chain of the future.

We foster a culture of sustainability for all-round improvement

We view sustainability as a complex set of actions, processes, and attitudes.T he Veneto Leather District is committed to cultural growth as the engine for profound development, leading to tangible improvement on all sustainability assets. As a District we intend to contribute fully to the great global challenge launched by the United Nations with the '2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development' by adopting a new approach to 'running a business'.

Our ongoing commitment to the ecological transition is testified by numerous projects

  • we support technological and scientific research projects to reduce emissions into the atmosphere and water, improve manufacturing processes, innovate plants, promote circular economies and reuse waste;
  • we accompany companies in the green transition with training, dissemination of results, development of sustainable tanning models, dissemination of quality certifications;
  • we support the ITS Green Leather Manager course to train and bring a new generation of technicians specialized in sustainable tanning into companies;
  • we promote the Veneto production district and its companies by increasing market, consumer and local awareness of the sustainability of the supply chain and the real ecological value of leather.
